The Acoustics Field Measurements Accredited Laboratory of Calpe Institute carries on all types of building acoustics tests. These tests allows you to analyse and certify the actual insulation of any wall once it is built.
The acoustics certification of projects from Calpe Institute enables you to stop worrying about noise related issues in your construction projects. Starting from the very beginning, with the aid of the acoustic report, Calpe I.T. consultants will guide you through all the stages of the construction on the noise abatement you have to achieve in every wall and ceiling of the building.
Our experts will supervise the installing process of noise reducing elements is correctly carried on, and at the end they will issue a certification of the fulfilment of the requisites established on the applicable regulations by the means of in situ noise insulation measurements.
Field measurements of airborne sound insulation between rooms (ISO 140-4)
This test shows the actual airborne insulation of a wall or floor/ceiling, and helps to verify if the required levels by the applicable regulations have been achieved.
Field measurements of impact sound insulation of floors (ISO 140-7)
This test shows the actual impact sound level of floors due to the transmission of vibrations through the structure, and helps to verify if the required abatement levels by the applicable regulations have been achieved.
Field measurements of airborne sound insulation of façades, loudspeaker global method (ISO 140-5)
This test shows the actual airborne insulation of façades, and helps to verify if the required levels by the applicable regulations have been achieved. The loudspeaker method is suitable for buildings in low noise environments.
Field measurements of airborne sound insulation of façades, traffic noise global method (ISO 140-5)
This test shows the actual airborne insulation of façades, and helps to verify if the required levels by the applicable regulations have been achieved. This method is the only option for façades close to roads with high levels of road traffic.
Field measurement of reverberation time in ordinary rooms (ISO 3382-2)
Reverberation measurements help to verify the requisite established in the CTE for sites and activities open to public attendance, as lecture rooms or restaurants. These tests show the level of word intelligibility, and if the room conditions are suitable for the use they were planned for.
The Building Technical Code (CTE) substantially changes the methodology used for the acoustic analysis of walls, façades and floors, effectively guaranteeing the quality of insulation.
CTE makes mandatory to asset environmental noise levels in areas to be built, in order to accordingly design the insulation of façades (higher insulation levels are required for façades exposed to higher noise levels), and implicitly requires certification by field measurements of the sound insulation achieved.
The Acoustic Laboratory of Calpe Institute is one of the only six laboratories in Spain which were part of the pre-regulatory research project for editing the CTE, in collaboration with the Ministerio de Fomento through the Institute of Building Science Eduardo Torroja. Our laboratory carried on several measurements of airborne noise and impact sound transmission and developed a software tool for the Report on the Impact of the Application of the CTE-HR to Building Costs.
